Hospital Appointments on Time!
Greater efficiency for hospital departments, greater efficiency for drivers and more convenience for patients - it sounds like an ideal world - but it is an achievable goal with the mobile data technology developed by Alamein. Getting patients to non-emergency hospital appointments involves a great deal of organisation, a well drawn up driver’s list will save time and fuel, and if both the driver and the hospital can be kept up to date with any changes that might occur, the process runs smoothly and efficiently. Techie Tip - QuickGPS speeds up GPS fix time on XDA Orbit
The O2 XDA Orbit includes a useful bundled program from the manufacturer (HTC) called QuickGPS. The purpose of QuickGPS is to speed up the location fix time for it's onboard GPS, basically the time it takes from switching on the PDA to it figuring out where you are located for SatNav or Tracking to start working. QuickGPS works by downloading Ephemeris data (current satellite orbital info published by the US Department of Defence) via the mobile data network. This download can happen silently without the user being aware or interupted while it's happening.
